Neymar: I might never be as good as Messi and Ronaldo

0

Brazilian and Barcelona forward Neymar has expressed his doubts on the possibility of him reaching the same level as super stars teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo who have been on their best for few years now.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever reach the level of Cristiano or Messi,” he told Globoesporte.
“They are better than any other player on the planet today. I don’t know if I’ll reach their level but I aim to improve every day. I always want to better myself.
“Everything takes time. I’m growing each day. Coming to Europe has been a great experience. I was happy in Santos, but I wanted a fresh challenge and I hope to keep being happy.” he said.

Chelsea captain John Terry has scored more goals than Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta

0

John Terry has always been one of the Premier League’s best goalscoring defenders, but his ability to find the back of the net is absolutely crazy.
Indeed, in a week when Terry has scored against both Stoke and West Ham, he’s now got more career goals than Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta. Seriously.
Iniesta, who is considered one of the world’s best players, is famed for his ability to get forward, but when it comes to scoring goals, Terry beats him easily.
John Terry career goals: 58
Andres Iniesta career goals: 52
And Terry’s not even the highest scoring Premier League defender of all time.

Louis van Gaal blasts Premier League over Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham

0

Louis Van Gaal has hit out at the Premier League’s Christmas fixture schedule.
Manchester United travel to Tottenham tomorrow (12pm) less than 48 hours after beating Newcastle 3-1.
Two goals from Wayne Rooney and a header from Robin van Persie ensured three points were secured at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
United are now unbeaten in eight games but Van Gaal was not happy about their lack of preparation time before heading to White Hart Lane.
“With FIFA and UEFA, it’s forbidden to play within 48 hours. In England, it’s okay,” he said.
“I cannot prepare my team like I have to prepare. We have unit meetings, and team meetings, we have training 11 against 11, and assimilating opponents. We cannot do that now.”
United are 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea and seven off second-place Manchester City.

Scholes : Manchester United can win Premier League title this year

0

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has pinpointed his former team to challenge for the tittle come may next year after seeing off Newcastle in yesterday boxing day clash.
“If United win their next two games [away against Tottenham and Stoke City], I wouldn’t be surprised if they do what Liverpool did last year – go on a great run, a big run, and put pressure on the top two,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“Then, once you get to the Champions League, United will have the free weeks and hopefully they can take advantage.”
The celebrated United Legend was also full of praise for Skipper Wayne Rooney who scored twice despite playing as a deep midfielder.
“Wayne was top class,” he enthused. “I still think he is a top centre forward but he is capable of playing that midfield role when he drops back into it.
“It is an art to run from midfield into scoring positions but you still have to finish them and Wayne did. I thought he was brilliant all day.” he continued.

Sanchez Chilean teammate Eduardo Vergas helps Green save Penalty

0

Alexis Sanchez missed a penalty against Queens Park Rangers nine minutes into the clash at Emirates after shot stopper Robert Green dived the right way to save the spotkick.
However, camera shots have shown Eduardo Vergas pointing to his goalkeeper which way to dive and rightly so Green is able to save the penalty. Vergas who is Chilean team mate to Alexis Sanchez is understood to be a close friend to the Arsenal star man.
This did little to stop the former Barcelona man as he headed in an open play goal of his own few minutes after wasting a penalty to put his team ahead.
Arsenal won the game 2-1 thanks to a second goal from Thomas Rosicky despite a late surge from Queens Park Rangers.
