I want to earn £43.5m Manchaster United move next summer, booms Radamel Falcao

0

Radamel Falcao is hoping to earn a permanent move to Manchester United at the end of the season.
The Colombian was loaned out to United on transfer deadline day, but has so far failed to live up to his star billing.
Thanks partly to injury, Falcao has struggled to find form and has scored just once in 11 appearances.
Despite his struggles, Falcao is keen for United to exercise their option to buy him for £43.5m.
The former Porto striker concedes his chances of remaining at Old Trafford hinge partly on the amount of playing time he gets for the remainder of the campaign, though.
“I am very happy in this city, in this club and I am enjoying it here. I really want to stay,” Falcao said.
“From my point of view, I’d like to carry on but obviously I have to analyse the situation, see if I play more and see what decision the board takes.”

Arsenal Boost As Real Madrid Bid Rejected For Defensive Midfielder

0

Arsenal have received a massive boost in their pursuit of defensive midfielder Lucas Silva with reports Cruzeiro have rejected a second bid from Real Madrid.
Spanish news source AS.com say the Brazilian club met with representatives from Madrid to discuss a proposed move for Silva, but Cruzeiro were adamant he will cost at least €15 million.
Madrid have previously thought to have offered €12m for the midfielder, but their second figure is also short and was seemingly rejected.
The Gunners are also said to be in the market for Silva and if they meet the asking price for the 21 year old, the player could be theirs.
However, both sides may be fighting a losing battle as MARCA reports Cruzeiro are attempting to pin the highly sought youngster down to a new deal, with an eye for a big money move in the summer.
The Brazilian club are said to have offered the player double his current salary and increase his release clause and want the player to stay in Belo Horizonte for at least six months so he can play in the Copa Libertadores.
At present, Silva’s release clause is seemingly €15m, but a new deal could see it rise as high as €24m and could price Los Blancos and the North Londoners out of the chase – with them both hoping for a cheap deal.

Thierry Henry Wants To Become Arsenal Manager

0

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has admitted that he dreams of managing the Gunners one day.
The club’s all-time record goalscorer, who had been in America with New York Red Bulls, retired from playing this week.
He will now return to England to work as a pundit on Sky Sports.
Alongside his media work, the 37-year-old will study for his coaching badges, something he hopes to do under the guidance of former boss Arsene Wenger.
Henry knows that he is a long way from being in the frame for a Premier League job, but he concedes that taking over from Wenger one day would excite him.
Asked if his ultimate ambition would be to manage the Gunners,  Henry told The Telegraph: “That would be a dream come true, but that’s not how it works.
“You have to prove yourself first, you have to learn first. You need to be able to understand what it is to be a manager.
“Can you teach, can you be patient? All these problems. People think they are all managers in their own way, but it’s not that easy.
“The plan is to start my badges and I guess Arsenal will help me. To pass your badges, you have to work closely with a club and I would like to think it is going to be Arsenal. You know I’m in London when you see me at Arsenal.
“First and foremost I don’t know how or when, but everybody knows I would love to go back to Arsenal in some capacity.
“But I need to be equipped to go back. I want to learn the process, so I have to get my badges and what not. We will see what is going to happen.
“It’s not a secret, everybody talks about me going back to Arsenal and me the same thing, but it doesn’t always work like that. First and foremost, I have to make sure that I have everything on board to be able to go back.
“Hard work is all I know. It comes from my dad and the guys I played with when I arrived in the national team. Zidane, Djorkaeff, Thuram, Desailly, Petit, Barthez, that’s how they were and that’s what they taught me.
“So I took it on board because you can only be the reflection of your education. That’s the way I was educated, so that’s what I’m going to try to pass on.

Jose Mourinho rules out Chelsea quadruple

0

Jose Mourinho has played down suggestions that his Chelsea side can win the quadruple this season.
The Premier League leaders dispatched Championship outfit Derby County 3-1 on Tuesday to move into the semi-final of the Capital One Cup.
Just a few weeks ago the Portuguese was refuting the notion of his troops staying unbeaten for the entire league season, before defeat at Newcastle United ended that prospect.
“We spoke a few weeks ago about being unbeatable in the Premier League and we never did it,” he told BBC Sport.
“Now we speak about the quadruple but we haven’t done it. We have our feet on the ground.”
The West Londoners will face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League in February, while an FA Cup clash with Watford beckons next month.

Manchester United Triple Swoop At Awards Ceremony

0
Manchester United have completed a triple swoop at a Dutch awards ceremony in what was a good night for the club.
Louis van Gaal was named Dutch coach of the year for his leadership of the Netherlands national team at the 2014 World Cup, with the Oranje eventually finishing third in Brazil.
Since the tournament van Gaal has also been in impressive form in the United dugout and after a shaky start has guided the side to third in the Premier League currently with six successive victories.
Red Devils striker Robin van Persie picked up the gong for sports moment of the year for his header during the 5-1 win over Spain in their World Cup group match.
Van Persie’s effort against the then reigning champions was also shortlisted for the Puskas award for best goal of the year and helped the Dutch qualify top in a potentially tricky group that also contained Australia and Chile.
Finally Daley Blind was named athlete of the year for his displays for Ajax, the national team and now Man United after the midfielder completed a £13.8m summer switch to Old Trafford from the Amsterdam Arena
