Manuel Pellegrini has caused a stir by revealing who he thinks is the best player in the Premier League right now… and it’s not Sergio Aguero.

The Manchester City boss has previously labelled his star striker as one of the top five players in the world, but sensationally he’s claimed Arsenal man Alexis Sanchez is the Premier League’s best.

Aguero has recently returned from over a month out with knee ligament injury, and in that time Sanchez has impressed Pellegrini enough to earn such high praise.

The former Barcelona forward has been the stand-out man for Arsenal this season, looking like a bargain buy even at the reported £32million the Gunners paid for his services.

On Sunday he was the inspiration behind his sides 3-0 win against Stoke, hitting his 11th and 12th Premier League goals of the season having already provided the assist for Laurent Koscielny’s early opener.
