Arsenal won’t buy in January if everyone is fit – Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that there would be no need for him to spend in January if his squad are fit.
After failing to sign a replacement for Barcelona-bound Thomas Vermaelen this summer, the Gunners have struggled to deal with Laurent Koscielny’s injury issues, prompting calls from fans for investment over the winter.
Calum Chambers and Nacho Monreal have both spent time filling in at centre-back but the pair will miss Saturday’s game against Newcastle, as well as the Frenchman, while fitness problems continue to plague the team as a whole.
“If everybody’s fit, we don’t need to go into the transfer market,” Wenger told reporters on Friday of his plans for the window, which opens on January 1
