Chelsea secretary David Barnar has revealed that he is satisfied to have seen the club drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League.d
The Blues defeated the French side in the quarter-finals of last season’s competition, winning the tie on away goals after a 3-3 draw on aggregate.
Jose Mourinho’s side are due to travel to Paris for the first leg on February 17.
“I know that Jose said before the draw that he would like to see PSG for our supporters because of the travel arrangements and the logistics, and he was right,” he told Sky Sports News.
“I think both teams now have totally different teams to last year and it’s a one-off situation, like we know in knockout. I think we’ve got an advantage by being away first. At least we know what we will have to do for the second leg, so from our point of view, whether it was PSG or whoever it was, it would still be the same situation.”
